KP Energy – Press release launch Finland

KP Energy takes next step in growth strategy – new major investment in Finland
Press release
KP Energy was founded in 2012 in Västerås and after more than a decade of growth it is one of the largest wholesalers of cleantech products in Sweden. Today, every fourth solar cell installation on residential roofs in Sweden has materials from KP Energy, for example. Now the company is taking a big and important step in its expansion by establishing itself in Finland. With a new office, Finnish e-commerce and an upcoming marketing campaign in Finland, the company has a bright future. Climate and energy challenges have transformed the electrification and transition to renewable energy in society from important to essential, and the cleantech sector is a driving force and enabler in this regard. KP Energy is one of the companies driving the green transition as a wholesaler of solar energy, electric vehicle charging and energy storage. They are now expanding their operations in Finland. – I look forward to bringing our cutting-edge knowledge and establishing ourselves in Finland in earnest. We have great ambitions and with lessons learned from the growth in Sweden, combined with a financially strong and long-term owner behind us, we have every opportunity to succeed. Finland is an important part of our long-term strategy until 2030,” says Filip Wiqvist, CEO of KP Energy. KP Energy is owned by the OKQ8 group, which has almost a century of experience in energy and thus also in market fluctuations. – It is a challenging market situation for all players in the solar energy sector, but our experience together with the strength of the group creates security for both us and our customers. Our focus on security, quality and sustainability makes us a stable and long-term partner, regardless of the economic situation,” says Filip Wiqvist. OKQ8 also has tough sustainability targets. By 2025, net-zero emissions will be achieved in its own operations and by 2035 in the entire value chain. – We share our owner’s ambition to continuously develop not only the company but also society. This applies not least to sustainability, where our establishment in Finland allows us to further drive the energy transition in the Nordic region. “Climate neutrality is a goal that unites all parts of the group – regardless of companies, operations or countries,” says Filip Wiqvist. One of the first employees of the Finnish venture is sales manager Antti Kostiainen, who has worked in the industry for ten years. – I have followed KP Energy for a long time, seen their development and always had the highest respect for them. In tough markets, there are always a few players who buck the trend and invest instead, and the fact that KP Energy is one of them is particularly inspiring. Now I look forward to contributing to customer satisfaction, an accelerated energy transition and ultimately a greener society,” says Antti. KP Energy’s first office in Finland was opened in November and is located in Helsinki.
