Tips and guidance
KP Energy offers charging stations from reputable suppliers such as Zaptec, Sungrow, Charge Maps and SolarEdge. Before purchasing a charging point, it is important to ensure that the product meets your specific project needs.
There are two types of charging cables on the market, type 1 and 2. According to EU requirements, the Type 2 plug is now mandatory for all new electrical vehicles in Sweden. It is important to know whether the car is charging with Type 1 or Type 2 in order to choose the right cable. Most cars use Type 2, but some have Type 1.
Some EVs only support 1-phase charging, providing a power output of up to 7.4 kW (1-phase 32 A). Other electric vehicles can handle 3-phase charging. It is important to remember that a 3-phase charging point can be used with an electrical vehicle that only supports 1-phase charging. It is the car that determines what power it can be charged with.
The speed of charging an electrical car or a plug-in hybrid depends on the power and current of the charging point. The higher the capacity in kilowatts (kW) and amperes (A) the charging point has, the faster the vehicle will be charged. Currently, there are charging points available with up to 22 kW and 32 A. By choosing a charging point with high power and current, you ensure an efficient and future-proof charging solution.
